Spend d next few hours @ Imbi Plaza where we had not been for a few years & later pop over to Time Square. Bought 4 books - Speed Reading....
Went back to Low Yat after that.
Had a nice dinner @ home & celebrate wif a nice cake.

SIB....just in time to.....
Funny thing happened this morning. Almost all the kiddos had a very late sat. nite & hence it was not a surprise that we were all late for church this morning except for JS who was still sleeping as he had bit of problem sleeping....too much anime. By the time we were ready to leave it was almost 11.
Well as usual the alternative is to go for the SIB 11am service. Good idea & agreed by all as SIB has just moved to the new building... would be nice to be there.
Missed a turn on the way & needed to turn to Section 17 and as we hit Jln University there was a jam ...bcos of some warehouse sales. Anyway reached the parking lot (I think it is ...) aro 11.30am, probably the sermon would have started....we will just slip in quietly. Went to wrong floor & finally made it to the main sanctuary.
Pastor Chew was speaking & after 5 minutes it was altar call! Apparently SIB have changed their Sun service to 10am which is even earlier than Calvary 2nd service.....

Gold Bee Apiary
And later went for my favorite yong tau foo @ GBA which is next to KopiTiam. GBA - Gold Bee Apiary which is a stall where as the name suggest honey is sold both in bottles and also as drinks such as honey lychee, honey longan plus yong tau foo and other noodles and rice.
As always enjoyed the ytf.

KL 3rd rudest city....No surprise
Honestly I am not too surprised by the results i.e. the result from a Reader Digest survey which appeared on the NST....see the online responses from readers. Look at the way people jump lines & lights especially the motorists. It reflect the mentality of the people....I don't care what happens as long as I can get there first. The number of motorcyclists that jump light is amazing.
BTW - 1200 respondents agree so...almost 78%. There is no denying and hopefully we can change that attitude just like the Hongkies after SAR....they become much nicer people

Good row & run in Jakarta
Decided to run after the workshop rather than to rest. The gym in Mulia is small but fairly well equiped...it has 8 treadmills and 2 rowing machines plus other machines...too high tech for me.
Did a 6.2 km row and 3.2 km run.....good sweat.

Attended training this week and met with Damien from Dubai again. He has a new phone...a sleek Nokia E61 which is not available here in Malaysia. Nice wide screen with 3G and I think the OS is Symbian or maybe it is pocket pc as he could retrieve mails from the office exchange server.

Lightning struck?
Lightning struck?
Originally uploaded by agfoxx.
Saw this tree at the tennis court last sun when I go for my regular tennis session. The barks were torn-off at certain parts and appeared darkened....signs that lightning struck which has become has increased in frequency last few months & one of the reason why I have laid off running in the rain.
On close examination the cut is too straight to be caused by nature. Conclusion - someone just decided to chop of the branches....but just wonder why only this tree. as there many other trees around.

The Motorcycle Dairies
Finally finished watching The Motorcycle Diaries today after 5 to 6 different sessions; most of the time while waiting for M2 or WL in the car. Which mean that I watched the entire dvd (almost) on the X-Trail dvd player.....very useful thing to have for those who need to wait for wife or girlfriend. ...I mean having a dvd player in the car. The sceneries are awesome....from the hills of Argentina to Bolivia & all the way north.
The synopsis - In January 1952, Ernesto and Alberto set out on a road trip to discover the real Latin America. Ernesto (Gael Graca Bernal) is a 23-year-old medical student specialising in leprology, and Alberto (Rodrigo de la Serna) is a 29-year-old biochemist. With a highly romantic sense of adventure, the two friends leave the their familiar Buenos Aires surroundings on a rickety 1939 Norton 500. Although the bike breaks down in the course of their eight-month journey they preserved in achieving their missions and what they saw impacted their beliefs especially Ernesto who later became a famous rebel....Che Guevara who led a rebellion in Cuba.
Hainanese Tea for D Hainan Guys
Went to LowYat wif JS & as usual we stopped for some coffee & tea....hainanese tea @ Level 2. Two cold drinks plus 1 special CCF with fishball only cost RM10 whereas we can only get 1 cold coffee or mocha if we had gone to Starbuck. The hainanese tea is nice....its actually a yin yong ie coffee+tea+milk.
BTW almost bought a Wacom tablet....hmm still contemplating.
1st Game
Watched the opening Germany vs Costa Rica match @ home instead of the planned mamak stall outing. Turn out it was just as fun & more comfortable especially when I have both JS & WL for company.
Who is taller?
Just realised that WL is taller than me by more than 1 inch or so…..not complaining tho. M2 discovered that today that WL is much taller than her….she insisted that we (me & WL) stand back2back and we looked into the mirror and lo behold she is truly taller by more than an inch. My darling gal!

RM20k versus FOC
Met an old colleague @ Bkt Kiara Club.....he left the company around 12 years ago. It was good to catch & we yakked about the old days ... checking who is still around, who has left the company.
Then we were on subject of how often we come to the club. In the first place I was surprised to even see him there as I know he is staying in Rawang which is many many km away. He mentioned that he was there just to use the spa & take a bath before going for his dinner appointment later. Later we were on the subject on when we join the club and how much we paid for the membership....well he paid more than 20k when he joined the club maybe 15 years ago....whereas my membership was less than 5k & it was fully subsidised by the company i.e.....FOC!
Moral of the story ....20k for a bath is very expensive

Blink
Blink
Originally uploaded by agfoxx.
Just finished reading Blink which is about making snap decisions & first impression - Malcolm G called that thin slicings. Learned a few interesting perspectives regarding mind reading & how to read facial movements.
As a summary the book teaches one that :-
1. Decisions made very quickly can be every bit as good as decisions made cautiously and deliberately
2. However this our internal computer (unconscious) can be thrown off, distracted and disabled.....it is possible to learn when to listen to that powerful onboard computer and when to be wary of it.
3. Our snap judgment and first impressions can be educated and controlled
Also there are two other important lessons... 1. Truly successful decision making relies on a balance between deliberate and instinctive thinking (page 141) 2. Second lesson in good decision making - frugality matters
Will read the book again to maximize learning.

Flowering Cactus in Seputeh
Monkey Monyet
Apparently according to kakak this monyet has been seen around the back lane a few times. It has even forage into some of the neighbour houses and curi food.
This is really monkey business.....
WW's first blog
This is WW's very own blog....she created and posted it all by herself this morning.
She has asked me to create a blog for her quite a few weeks back but I was just to busy or rather lazy to do it.
So finally she did it on her own and the only thing I did later was to link a pic url to her profile.
## She also created a blog for M2......

OtH
That’s happy WW with the jumbo caramel popcorns which she hold on to with her dear life….to prevent the frequent raids from her neighbours....
Its quite amazing how a producer/director can turn a mundane story.....basically of some squirrels, skunk, tortoise, racoon & posums (yes a bear) waking up from hibernation and finding their natural forest habitat turned to a residential property surrounded by the hmmmm a Hedge...... into an entertaining movie for the family (I suppose with the help of good effects & witty dialogues). It shows how creative one can be if we put our heart to it
