Detox, running & bonds

Ran 4km in Bkt Kiara in 28minutes. Will continue to run 4 times a week and aiming at doing 5km per day.

Catchup with IC and while waiting, went to Borders in Curve. Happened to read book on detox....interesting stuffs. Took down some names like bentonite, etc. One of the most interesting stuff that I discovered was that contrary to normal belief beers & wines are more harmful than spirits like whisky & brandy. It is because of the stuffs that were added to the beers like additives..... Not too clear about that and will do more research on that.

Also got a copy of Personal Money. Featured Winnie....successful in her own right especially after losing 2millions in stocks in the 97-98 periods. With the interest rates going up might need to evaluate whether to still hold bonds which are not much anyway.

Fasting, running & other things......

Been "fasting", well not in the true sense but still not easy.....being a vegetarian for 3 weeks. Have done that for more than a week and it does help me to remember why I am doing. A prayer request to cover the family in time of changes.

Ran 3 rounds approximately 3.75km around KLCC Park. Will continue to do run regularly and this week's effort is on breathing. In tru the nose and out tru the mouth....in tru the nose and out tru the mouth...and on and on. Its nice to run here because of a few factors....firstly its very convenient and secondly its much nicer to run outdoor than on the treadmill.

Hope to get the new car tomorrow...

Need some clarifications on this........

Just wonder whether this is still applicable.....

Corinthian 14:33 For God is not a God of disorder but of peace. As in all the congregations of the saints, 34 women should remain silent in the churches. They are not allowed to speak, but must be in submission, as the Law says. 35 If they want to inquire about something, they should ask their own husbands at home; for it is disgraceful for a woman to speak in the church.

Running in the rain...

Its was fun....jogging in the rain. That's what I did yesterday evening. Sky was dark at around 7pm just when I changed and put on my running shoes. It started to drizzle and sky looked onminous....should I or should I not??? What the heck....just do it come what may. Even as I reached the KLCC running track spots of rain fell on my botak head. Started the jog, this time tried something different...running anticlockwise i.e. against the normal traffic. Halfway it started to pour....continued and finished 2 laps...2.5km. Felt good.

Siren....Ambulance...Screech

We were on the way to SIB as we were late for our regular Calvary Church service and something disturbing happened.

As we passed the traffic light just before Westin Hotel heard a siren....which just get louder by seconds. Tried to figure where the ambulance or police car was....behind us or above on the flyover. Glanced to the rear mirror and saw in surreal details, an ambulance with flashing lights knocked into the front of a dark green Proton Saga just at the traffic light. Almost in slow motion the front bumpers of the proton flew and then the ambulance crashed into traffic pole.

First thing that flashed in my mind.....gosh I hope that there was no patient in the ambulance as I could see the ambulance really bumped & skidded before it stopped; still be the siren screeching. I am quite sure the ambulance driver must have taken a pretty back knock.

Did not stop as I was already 300metres away & there were a number of cars at the junction who had stopped to help.

Don't really know how that happened but a few logical things one must do when you hear siren....look around & be aware of the surrounding. Do not impede the ambulances/police cars but similarly do not make sudden movements which might just be as disruptive (at the very least). WeiWen was much affected by accident....& similarly I almost missed the car park entrance.

We finished the Run, got a "medal" and had nasi lemak.....

Got up at 5.20am this morning....picked up Josh's fren Kin Wei and set off to pick Josh. The highway was closed for the KL Marathon and we had to detoured to Pantai in order to get to Taman Desa. As we set off we discovered we had not prepared properly....we are hungry. Good thing Josh's fren Foo Seng has some bananas...good source of energy.

Left Taman Desa in 3 cars and reached Padang Merbok carpark around 6.30. Dataran Merdeka was full of activities and soon there was an announcement that the lead runners of actual Marathon were only a few kilometres away from finishing line. These guys and gals can run.....just wonder what make them ticks.

Soon it was our turn to start off. Let the crowd go first.....and started a steady pace. Strangely stamina was not an issue (probably becos of the slow pace) but the tightness around the left ankle and ahemmm...the bladder gave some issues. Well, mind over matters....there will always be something that is not right with the body when you run these races. Continued the pace and finally around Sheraton Hotel (maybe 4 km) had to walk to ease the pain. Walked briskly for 200 metres and started running....strangely the pain went off. Smooth running all the way to the finish line. Good feeling.

Getting ready for the 7KM run and fixing the cistern

Finally fixed the cistern. Most importantly got a new wrench to uncouple the joint. Must remember to apply the sealing tapes between joints both at the cistern/pipe joint and pipe/toilet bowl joint. Must remember to buy new black rubber "seal" for the pipe/toilet joint since it get harden and start to leak after a couple of years. All in all quite a good job done though need to uncouple/couple the joints a few time!

Will need to wake up early tomorrow....5.20 and then fetch Josh's fren to Yih Hon's place. Going to Foo Seng's house after that. Hope I survive!

KL Marathon

Ran 7 km last night in preparation for the KL Marathon Fun Run. Looks like a good commitment for 2006.....get healthy, learn Chinese, walk with Christ and be a good husband & father.

Ran 6 km on Sunday 26 February, managed only 2 km on Tuesday 28 February....but last night was fun. Rewarded myself with a cold fruit blended drink after that.

What goes in & what goes out.....

My learning today.....now I understand what it meant by.... "nothing that enters a man from outside can him 'unclean' "

Mark 7

Again Jesus called the crowd to him and said, "Listen to me, everyone, and understand this. 15Nothing outside a man can make him 'unclean' by going into him. Rather, it is what comes out of a man that makes him 'unclean.' "[a]
17After he had left the crowd and entered the house, his disciples asked him about this parable. 18"Are you so dull?" he asked. "Don't you see that nothing that enters a man from the outside can make him 'unclean'? 19For it doesn't go into his heart but into his stomach, and then out of his body." (In saying this, Jesus declared all foods "clean.")
20He went on: "What comes out of a man is what makes him 'unclean.' 21For from within, out of men's hearts, come evil thoughts, sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery, 22greed, malice, deceit, lewdness, envy, slander, arrogance and folly. 23All these evils come from inside and make a man 'unclean.' "
