Urine test result & a short fruiting banana tree

Last week received letter from AIA (see earlier post) for re-test of urine. Went on this Mon to Dr Liao clinic. As the insurance did not disclose the reason for the re-test....Dr Liao suggested a personal urine test...just cost RM13 only. Went back on tue and Dr Liao said that there is nothing remarkable about the test results. Wish to give thanks to God for His blessings and my family for the prayers. God is always good.

Have a 3 feet tall banana tree that is fruiting well in the backyard. Wati has green fingers...

Addicted to.....

Yong tau fu & popiah have always been my favourite. Was at Low Yat during lunch time on Tues and guess what I had? See below.....yong tau fu and honey drinks.

Also addicted to running....even though joined Jk, CH, YWK, JW & LO for drinks yesterday evening, still managed my daily 4km run. Did not miss a single day of my committed run from mon - thurs.

Sat...Sun...Mon

Sat…finally realised where Jalan HS Lee as I look across the road from the yong tau fu shop. The address on the signboard..probably the pic is too blurr…good excuse to get the Dopod 818?

HWW was delighted…it’s a No Pork served shop. She is still on her Pork Free Diet. The yong tau fu tasted about the same as those we had in Ampang but the chilli sauce was a let down.

Sun….last edition of Sunday Mail after 47 years. Used to look forward to Sunday Mail but I guess like most of us, finishing Sunday Star itself is a quite a chore or rather a feat considering how thick it usually is on Sun.

Mon…left office around 5.10pm so that I can pick HWW for her ballet. The traffic there was still not too bad …and while waiting for the lights, guess what I saw the gal in the next car was doing?

She was marking some papers while waiting for the lights to change!
Traffic was horrendous in Desa Hartamas after dropping HWW. 20 minutes…10 metres, no way I can get to Bukit Kiara for my jog before 6.30. Parked the XTrail and ran round DH. Did around 2.5km to 3km anyway.

The Fifth Trumpet, or First Woe

Just read Revelation Chapter 9 and discover a very true learning from the commentary (InterVasityPress).

The Fifth Trumpet, or First Woe

Back in the 1970s, my wife and I and our two boys lived for a few montes at an ecumenical study center outside Jerusalem. One afternoon my son spotted a large scorpion in our apartment. We tried bug spray on it with little effect. It seemed in no hurry to go anywhere, so we called our friend Elias, the Palestinian Christian who worked the front desk. His advice was, "Don't do anything! Wait for me and I will be right down." We assumed Elias had an old Arab formula handed down from his ancestors and approved by the management for dealing with scorpions. When he arrived, Elias stared at our unwanted guest for a second or two. Then in one sudden move he brought his right foot down quick and hard on the tile floor, crushing the tiny monster to a pulp. This has been a standing joke in our family ever since. We all knew that any one of us could just as easily have done what Elias insisted on doing for us. The serious side is the reason we did not act--intimidation and fear of the unknown. The hostility between humans and certain creatures of the earth is very ancient, and in the Bible it becomes a symbol of the great conflict between good and evil. Jesus told his disciples in Luke, "I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you" (Lk 10:18-19).

Ampang yong tau fu, thin wallet...thick wallet

Its Fri! Managed to get most of the stuffs done in the morning and decided it might be a good idea to drive somewhere for lunch....have not done that for a very long time. Normally lunch would be at Wisma Central or Food court or skip lunch.

Gathered a few colleagues (LC, AH & CH) and drove to Ampang town for yong tau fu. The drive there was easy on the elevated hiway and soon we were there. Hah...a car reversed out of the first stall and may just as well park there and have lunch. Ordered assam fish, pandan chicken wings, fried "water play" and of course the "house dish" yong tau fu. Turn out the food was reasonably good (not fantastic) and cost around RM50 for 4.

Reversing out was a bit more difficult compared to the parking as there was another car doubled parked. The chinese "jaga kereta" said...can, can , no problem. He tried to guide and don't really trust his judgement too much.

Would definitely try the other shop the next round.

Before finishing this blog.....just comparing my wallet with LC's wallet....and obviously the thinner and more pok-kai wallet is mine.

Sweats, rain, missing ear piece cover....

Back in office after running 3 1/2 km in the KLCC Park

There was a slight drizzle and to keep the Samsung F1 dry, have to wrap it up in a plastic bag and kept under my t-shirt as I ran. Another problem, I sweat too easily and the sweats kept running down the ears and make the ear pieces wet & loose. After the run, naturally try to dry the head, the face, the ear pieces.....and just as I reach the concourse discovered one of the ear piece covers disappeared! Alamak...see below...only 1 piece left! :((

Hmmm must experiment with of the options next week-
-wearing a cap to prevent the sweats from reaching the ears or
-buy a sweat band for the head but wouldn't I look weird or maybe
-buy another set of head piece which come with "hook" for the ears.

Will rest my legs until Sun tennis session.

Attending VS1...SEVENTONINE

Attending Value Selling this week with my colleagues from both BP Aviation (AIR) and ILS.

That's Wim, the trainer from Glendinning.

Learn something interesting from Fong and Damien (both from Aviation Lubes) that 30% of inflight engine shutout are due to lubricants failures.

Been running hard this week since Monday. Ran 5km on Mon, 3km on Tues becos of dinner with Leonard & Anne at SevenToNine and ran 3.75km yesterday evening in the rain.

SEVENTONINE at Ascot has a interesting concept of having outdoor dinning inside the building.

Running & medical checkup

Well the Samsung YP-F1 does really help in the run. Finished my 5km without too much effort. It does take my mind off the distance while listening to my audio books......how to be asserive (which does equate to being aggressive)

On the other hand received a letter from the company insurance through HR asking me to do a urine feme retest...twice. Does not sound too good but then again will need to learn to trust & pray and no to worry too much. Will do the tests next week.

X-Trail first service....

Send the X-Trail to TanChong Service centre for the 1000km service.

Decided to wait and work at the reception as there was free wireless broadband.

Very decent reception room. Friendly tea lady....drank too much coffee

And eat too much ice-cream....free ice-cream provided

Sunrise Easter.....

Got up at 6am for Easter Sunrise service at Bukit Jalil Hockey Stadium. Josh, Wei-Lin and WeiWen were still asleep as KB and I drove off at 6.30. Even though Bukit Jalil is close to Seputeh, the journey appeared to be longer than the usual journey to Calvary Church in Damansara Height. Usually it will take us just 15 minutes to reach church....hmmmmm so when the church complete the CCC (Calvary Convention Centre) in Bukit Jalil, and have the Sunday sevice there, would it mean that we would then be even later for Sunday service....we are already late almost all time now!!

We were sitted on right side of the stadium....lots of people even though it is early and its a Sunday morning.

Soon the sun was up....

Having fellowship with friends and other members after the service. The nasi lemak was good and spicy....

Hainan coffee & Samsung YP-F1

Bought myself a Samsung YP-F1 MP3 514MB for RM430 yesterday at the PIKOM PC Fair. Good deal as a colleague of mine bought his 256MB (same model) for RM4990 just 4 months ago. Will be using that to listen to my audio books / songs / radio while I jog. Will it make my run easier....give me more breath......make me cleverer? Hope so!

Anyway here is Josh listening to the F1 while we were having Hainan coffee in Low Yat. Meantime the IOMega backup konked out on us...we were trying to copy Josh's music to the F1. : ((

Keep on running...

Ran 5km again today

Bought some Dona glycosamine suphate from regualr Tmn Desa and Kuan (the pharmacist) told me that it should be taken with empty stomach for best effect. Apparently the molecules are much bigger...

Bicycles, Flood, Guitar

Was at the Sales Conference (Fri) when received a call from the bicyle repair shop regarding the 2 bicycles that I left for repair.

MBR (Mr Bicycle Repair) asked:...u mr Fan eh? (all in cantonese)
Me: Yes
MBR:You left 2 bicycles in my shop hoh
Me: Yes...and sorry I know I am suppose to pick them up on Mon but busy...
MBR: Aiyaaa.....my shop flooded la...3 feet of water
Me:Oh-uh....so my bicyles still ok or not
MBR: Yes...but you dun come today ha...tomorrow ok so that I can get them wash & clean
Me...thinking ...at least they are still there.

Collected the 2 mountain bikes on sat and paid RM78 for gear changes etc. Wei Lin, Joah and I had a ride yesterday evening around Seputeh. Not a very good choice because of the slopes....now another set of muscle ache.

Was on MSN with KK this morning and she mentioned her older boy was swiped by a truck (or was a bus) as he was cycling.....fortunately he was not hurt but still suggested a more thorough medical checkup would be good.

Finally josh bought his electric guitar......he is enjoying it.

Finally the XTrail

Got my new XTrail 2.5L on Friday 31 Mar 06 after a long wait. Nice car to drive though a bit bumpy compared to the Camry ; to be expected as it is a SUV. Comes with DVD player and the first task was to ferry the 2 mountain bikes to the bicycle repair shop in Old Klang road...would not be able to do that with the Camry.
